Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the planning, design, construction and maintenance of numerous aspects of the structure of a city such as roads, canals, bridges, railways, etc.
In developed countries such as Germany, civil engineering is more concerned with the maintenance of current structures and how to improve them as being inhabited for more 2000 years; structures cannot be changed easily as the foundations may be affected (German quality at its finest).
